Skill council for Green Jobs (SCGJ) invites applications from Industry partners, Industry Associations, Academic Institutions, or Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), specialized institutions and not skill training providers to conduct the Skill development trainings in Green Hydrogen under the PMKVY 4.0.

Policies have been rapidly formulated, and their implementation is progressing swiftly. Bharat is committed to advancing green hydrogen as a new energy source. These efforts address concerns about climate change and global warming, while also opening up significant opportunities for green jobs. Thus, as the importance of green jobs expands in the near future, to seize this opportunity and provide employment for our youngsters, we must focus on promoting and expanding the green job sector.
SCGJ and Tata Power/TPSDI have signed a milestone Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand GREEN HYDROGEN Trainings across the country. This collaboration signifies an important step in our commitment to renewable energy and sustainable development.

Mr. Sunil Jain is the new chairman of Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ) since 1st April 2024.
He is the Founder Partner of Sundev Renewables LLP and has over three decades of experience across industries including renewable energy, automotive, infrastructure, manufacturing, and cleantech. He is also the Chairman, Energy Council, NRC at the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), Chairman, MSME Centre for Excellence and Skilling at IACC, and Chairman at the Indian Renewable Energy Alliance, a pan-India association representing all the leading Independent Power Producers (IPPs) in the country.

Morgan, mapped the landscape of Green Jobs in India, with an aim to identify vibrant sectors creating green jobs, opportunities in the skills ecosystem, and outline needs and challenges of vulnerable groups. The study report ‘’Gearing up the Indian Workforce for a Green Economy’’ shall be released by Shri A K Tiwari, Secretary, MSDE. on May 16, 2023.

Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ) was represented in the "Berlin Energy Transition Discussion 2023" by Mr. Arpit Sharma, COO, SCGJ, at the Federal Foreign Office (Germany). Hosted by the Government of Germany and a joint initiative of the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE), the German Solar Association (BSW), and the German Energy Agency (Dena). During the Energy Week 2023, signed an MOU between SCGJ with BSW Solar.

The Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD) organized a Climate Parliament for the youth and Sustainability Leadership Summit on 3rd and 4th November 2023 in Bangalore. The event's theme was "India Sustainability@75 Achievements, Challenges, and Prospects," focusing on tracing India's journey in sustainable development and envisioning the future. Ms. Sangeeta Patra, Vice President – Marketing & Partnerships, Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ), attended “Sustainability Leadership Summit” as a speaker during the summit and talked on the topic of “Green Jobs for Sustainable Development”. She discussed the crucial role of training, apprenticeship and entrepreneurships in the context of sustainability and distributed the rewards to the youth of the climate parliament.

Recent Activities

TPSDI is offering a free 5-day Green Hydrogen Entrepreneurship Training in October 2024, conducted under PMKVY 4.0 guidelines in collaboration with the Skill Council for Green Jobs.

The course will be held offline at TPSDI centers across India and is open to candidates with a minimum qualification of either XII pass with 2 years of experience, X pass with 4 years of experience, or 3rd-year diploma/degree students. Participants will receive certification upon successful completion.

About SCGJ
Our Mission

To identify skilling needs of service users as well as manufacturers/ service providers, within Green Businesses sector, and implement nation-wide, Industry led, collaborative skills development & entrepreneur development initiatives that will enable meet India’s potential for “Green Businesses”.

Skill Council for Green Jobs is one of the most recently launched initiatives of the Government of India aligned to the National Skill Development Mission. It is promoted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The creation of the SCGJ was approved in the 10th meeting of National Skill Qualifications Committee held on 28th September 2015. Established as a not-for-profit, autonomous, industry-led society, the SCGJ was incorporated under the Societies Registration Act XXI, 1860 on 1st October, 2015.
