ABOUT THE EVENT/ ACTVITY 1Skill Council for Green Jobs presented itself in CII’s 4th National Conference on “ Skill Development & Job Fair -Linking Skills to Jobs” held on 26-27th November,2015 held at Taj Palace, New Delhi.The objective of the conference was to connect industry employers and youth from ITIs. The conference had provided jobs to ITI graduates while enabling access for employers to a talent pool. The Skill Council for Green Jobs has Renewable Energy, Green Construction, Green Buildings Green Campus, Green Transportation, Solid Waste Management, Water Management, E-Waste Management, and Energy Storage as the major sectors under its umbrella. Mr Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Honorable Minister for Skill Development visited the pavilion of Skill Council of Green Jobs. Dr. Praveen Saxena,CEO, briefed theHon’ble Minister about activities of the skill council its recent efforts to work in the field of solar energy and waste management.

KEY FACTORS OF THE ACTIVITY Skills development in industrial wastewater treatment
ABOUT THE EVENT/ ACTVITY 321-23 June 2016, New Delhi The Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ) and Deutsche GesellschaftfürInternationaleZusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH have organised comprehensive Training of Trainers (ToT) programme from 21-23 June 2016 in New Delhi. As part of the training programme, nine participants were trained as the first set of skilled trainers, who can undertake skilling of technicians and operators of industrial wastewater treatment plants. The ToTfocussed on providing essential understanding on the process of training, training methods/tools, didactics, soft skills, examination system etc. and orientation to the training curricula. The training was imparted by a senior expert from the well-known DWA, Germany (German Association of Water, Wastewater and Waste).SCGJ and GIZ have joined hands to introduce a system of skill development for the people involved in the industrial wastewater treatment plants. GIZ, the Deutsche GesellschaftfürInternationaleZusammenarbeit GmbH, is an enterprise owned by the German Government, which is implementing a project on “Sustainable and Environment-friendly Industrial Production” (SEIP) under the Indo German Development Cooperation.

ABOUT THE EVENT/ ACTVITY 4-114 March 2016, New Delhi Skill Council for Green Jobs grooms first cropof professionals NEW DELHI:The renewable energy sector,facing a huge skill shortage in the face of ambitious expansion, will get a new cropof professionals from the Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ) initiative, launched in May last year.SCGJ aims to train 28,800 professionals in 2016­-17 Of these, 20,000 will be in the solar photo voltaic segment, 2,500 in operations related to wind energy, 1,500 in solid waste management and 1,500 in water management.The National Institute of Solar Energy (Gurgaon) , National Institute of Wind Energy(Chennai) and National Institute of Bio Energy (Jalandhar) along with 12 other institutes (all of them private) will carry out the training."We have visited their campuses, looked into their facilities and whether they have the capacity to teach courses we want,"said SCGJ Chief Executive Praveen Saxena.
